About me

I have always had an interest in photography but when my two gorgeous boys came along life got pretty busy, and my camera was put away. In 2019 I was offered the opportunity by my partner to be the photographer for a new book on funeral flowers and this was the beginning of reigniting my passion for photography.

Photographing flowers was a huge challenge for me and it took a great deal of research and experimentation. After the year long project was complete, I decided to develop into landscape photography, as I have always enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of being out in nature. Living in Devon I am extremely fortunate to be surrounded by such a diverse and impressive variety of Landscapes. On my doorstep I have two very different coastlines, wild open moorlands, ancient woodlands and the beautiful city of Exeter to explore.

I have really enjoyed learning and developing my skills, creativity and technical understanding. My signature style has revealed itself, challenging me to craft a pleasing photo, simplify key elements, creating clarity and emotion in a visual story. This has been enabled through the amazing photography community, by reading books, watching blogs by inspirational photographers eg Nigel Danson, Mads Peter Iversen, and Thomas Heaton who share their passion and knowledge so generously. I also spent an amazing day with Nick Livesey (Author, Photographer and Mountain Leader) climbing in the mountains of Snowdonia who gave me lots of useful tips on reactive photography as well as hiking in the mountains.

I am looking forward to seeing what opportunities the future will bring.
